Black mould in room after room, misread as spreading damp
A semi-detached home near Sevenoaks had black mould appearing across the kitchen, bathroom, WC and bedrooms. It looked like damp spreading through the house, but thermal imaging told a different story: the real cause was condensation, with humid air meeting cold surfaces and almost no working ventilation.
We treated the mould, installed extractor fans in the wet rooms, added insulation to a cold flank wall, and fitted a Positive Input Ventilation system to control humidity throughout the property. The conditions feeding the mould were removed at the source rather than wiped off the surface.
